A newfound sense of service
I’ve been a member of the Eugene community now for over 25 years. For many of those years, I’ve been concerned about the average day to day of modern life. I’ve had an overall apathy when it comes to politics, thinking only in terms of what was fed to me by the national news and problems that I had no real reason to think that I could do anything about. Over the years, I’ve changed that stance. Rejecting apathy, and realizing that the only way to make change was to actually do something, that’s how you start. I know that when you get together with the fellow humans around you, that’s how you make a difference.

Education needs to be a priority at all levels of government. We need more dedicated resources to increase education standards. However, with increased resources, increases in accountability needs to match.
